Preparing for the 2024-2025 School Year: Summer Work and School Supply Lists
Everything you will need to prepare your child for the beginning of the 2024-2025 school year can be found here, including supply lists, summer reading log and requirements and IXL Math Modules.
his summer, we are once again excited to provide our students with access to the dynamic online platform, IXL, to help students keep their math skills sharp. IXL offers fun and interactive ways for students to consolidate the gains they’ve made over the course of the school year and even to explore new concepts, all at their own pace. Access to IXL will be available throughout the break, allowing flexibility for families to integrate learning into their summer plans. By starting in July, many families find that their children have plenty of time to complete the summer program well before school starts again in the fall.
Over the course of the summer, students should demonstrate proficiency in all of the skills under “From your teacher” assigned by last year’s teacher. Proficiency is shown by reaching a “Smartscore” of 80%.
Please see this slideshow for information about how to log in.
Student Google usernames and passwords will be sent home in summer packets. Summer packets were sent home during the last week of school with students in good standing. New student packets will be sent early July.

The IHM Spirit Wear Store is NOW OPEN!
Please click on the link below to view all of the items already added to the store:
https://ihm-hsa-spiritwear.itemorder.com/shop/home/
The IHM HSA is excited to launch our brand new spirit wear store. We have items in youth and adult sizes, and some items even offer customization. The items can be shipped directly to your home or to school where they will be bagged and labeled with your child’s name. And the best news is that this store will remain open year round! As new items are added, we will send out updates. Most of these items will be allowed to be worn on IHM spirit wear days (the exception being that if IHM PE sweatpants or PE shorts are required, you may NOT wear the spirit wear shorts, leggings, or joggers in place of the PE bottoms). The items offer a mix of Immaculate Heart of Mary or IHM school branded items as well as IHM Athletics, supporting the revamping of the IHM Athletics Association.
All orders and payment will be processed using the link below. No money or order forms will be sent through kidmail. We hope you are just as excited as we are about the new spirit wear store!
If you have any questions or suggestions for future items, please make sure to email ihmhsa@ihmschoolmd.org

Parent Volunteering
The mission of our school is to work with the parents in order to educate the students. There are numerous areas and activities where parents may volunteer to help the school. Volunteer opportunities exist both during the school day and outside of school hours. It is hoped that each family can find some area or activity to meet this need.
VIRTUS
With our longstanding commitment in mind, all parishes and archdiocesan Catholic Schools will be using VIRTUS a new compliance management system that will allow all parishes and schools to facilitate compliance with archdiocesan child protection requirements for all volunteers who work with minors, employees, and clergy.
Cognia
All Archdiocesan high schools and elementary schools are accredited as a system through Cognia. Each school is evaluated based on the National Standards and Benchmarks for Effective Catholic Elementary and Secondary Schools.
Positive School Environment
To foster a positive school environment where all students are educated in a safe and caring atmosphere, all Archdiocesan schools will follow established procedures for prevention and intervention for bullying, harassment or intimidation.
