Letter from School Leadership

V + J

Welcome to Immaculate Heart of Mary School. We invite you to learn all about our school and we look forward to the opportunity to get to know you and your family.

As a parish school, our primary mission is to serve the families of Immaculate Heart of Mary parish as we “embody excellence in Catholic education, empowering students to lead, learn, collaborate, innovate and act with integrity.” (IHM Mission Statement). Although many things have changed since our foundation in 1951, our commitment to each child in our care has remained the same.

As a Catholic School in the Archdiocese of Baltimore, we follow the archdiocesan curriculum as we partner with our school families to meet the needs of their children. We are dedicated to promoting academic excellence and personal growth for each of our students by focusing on educating the whole child: spiritually, academically, physically, and emotionally so that they can become the person God created them to be. In the words of St. Francis de Sales, “Be who you are and be that well to give honor to the Master Craftsman whose handiwork you are.”

If you are not already part of our school community, we invite you to get to know us. As a school with a 70+ year history, we have many beautiful traditions which we cherish. We are also a school looking to the future so that we can prepare our students to go forward and change our world for the better. We are proud of the rich past of IHM, dedicated to excellence in the present, and excited for the future of this amazing school community.

May God continue to bless the work he has begun in us,

Letter from School Leadership

“We should see our neighbor in God and God in our neighbor, with all his virtues and gifts.  Our founder St. Francis de Sales taught in this way and loved in this manner.”  Blessed Louis Brisson, founder of the Oblate Sisters of St. Francis de Sales

“It is a great happiness to forget oneself in order to make God known, loved and served.”  Saint Léonie Aviat, foundress of the Oblate Sisters of St. Francis de Sales

“It is love that gives value to all our labors; it is not by the greatness or the multiplicity of our works that we please God but by the love with which we do them.”    Saint Francis de Sales
